after installing gnat 3.10 into /usr/bin,
and making a simple "hello world" program
called hello.adb, here is some sample shell:
bash> ls
hello.adb
bash> gnatmake hello
gcc -c hello.adb
gnatbind -x hello.ali
gnatlink hello.ali
ld: cannot open crtbegin.o: No such file or directory
gnatmake: *** link failed.
bash> which gnatmake
/usr/bin/gnatmake
bash> find / -name crtbegin.o
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.90.29/crtbegin.o
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.7.2.3/crtbegin.o
bash>

How do you install you gnat3.10 ? With a .rpm or .deb package ?
if you do gcc -v it will explain you where it look for crtbegin.o.
If this is in another directory, just do a link (ln -s) to the right
place.

Why not just get gnat-3.11p.
For Redhat 5:
ftp://ftp.cs.nyu.edu/pub/gnat/gnat-3.11p-i686-pc-linux-gnu-bin.tar.gz
For Redhat 4, Slackware 3.6:
ftp://ftp.cs.nyu.edu/pub/gnat/gnat-3.11p-i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1-bin.tar.gz

What is more, if you really want gnat-3.10p in .rpm format,
(waiting for the 3.11p to be in .rpm) you can easily install the
one in
ftp://contrib.redhat.com/libc6/i386/
gnat-3.10p-3.i386.rpm 6123 Kb Wed Dec 16
02:22:00 1998
gnat-docs-3.10p-3.i386.rpm 776 Kb Wed Dec 16
02:32:00 1998
it works fine with RH5.2. And you can interface it easily with g77 !Gray
Hat !
A+,
Vincent
PS: and maybe the 3.11p should appear soon in the same location !
