y fashion. The project did successfully produce an initial PA-APSE that
served as a test bed for a new prototype support tool, an automated Unit
Development Folder (UDF) capability. Partial development of the automated UDF
prototype revealed new issues to be faced in the evolution of mature APSEs,
thus confirming the potential value of such a PA-APSE test bed. The project
also analyzed other issues to be faced in the evolution of mature APSEs; these
issues clustered in several principal areas: (1) man-machine interfaces and
the Tool Extension Paradigm, (2) methodologies and environment capabilities,
(3) software structure, system conventions and virtual KAPSE interfaces, and
(4) master (project) database issues. This presentation discusses the results
of the feasibility analysis.

Judy Bamberger is currently a member of the PA-APSE design and
implementation team. Previous assignments at TRW have included Software
Engineering and Technical Assistance on the MX JOVIAL (J73) compilers. She
holds a Master's in Education (Junior High School), which has provided insight
into how to teach concepts germane to all programming languages (notably,
JOVIAL (J73) and Ada), and is currently working on her Master's in Computer
Science at UCLA. She is the chairperson of the Education Committee of the
Ada-JOVIAL Users Group; she presents J73 tutorials at national meetings; and
she will be delighted to present Ada tutorials to interested groups.

Future AdaTEC Events:
