I have used some Java, and in Java the auto documentation javadoc
is a very nice tool for generating module level documentation from
comments in your source code. Does it exist such a tool for Ada.
I have seen some Ada code with comments like --| or --+, which
is also the way javadoc extracts documentation from the code.

I'm using varying UNIX systems, including Solaris, Linux and OSF,
and GNAT. It should have GPL or free in some other way, and produce the
documents in some common file format, like HTML, Postscript or Latex.

UNIX is user friendly. It's just selective about who its friends are.
