NEW TECHNICAL COURSE FOR DII COE ON WEB
Topic:  DII, COE

A "Defense Information Infrastructure (DII) Common Operating Environment 
(COE) Technical Workshop" course has been uploaded recently to the CFCSE-IC 
DII COE Web Site [http://sw-eng.falls-church.va.us/coe/].  Intended 
mainly for developers, the course is an in-depth look at the inner 
workings of the DII COE.  Topics covered include documentation, analysis, 
segments and functional taxonomy.

TWO NEW ADA 95 DERIVED COMPILERS

The Ada Information Clearinghouse (AdaIC) has added two new Ada 95 
derived compilers to its list of Ada 95 Validated Compilers.  The 
compilers, from Aonix Inc.,  and Rational Inc., are as follows:

This week from Aonix:

Compiler:  ObjectAda Real-Time for Windows Cross PowerPC/VxWorks, 
version 7.1 (Base VC#:  970703s2.0.1-053)
Host:  ALR OptimaPro MT (200 MHz Pentium Pro) (under Windows NT 4.0)
Target:  Motorola Ultra PowerPC 603e (UB603E-100P16) & 604 
(UB604-133P16), and MVME1604-032 (under VxWorks 5.3.1)

This week from Rational:

Compiler:  Rational Apex Ada versions 2.4.1 & 2.4.6 >Base 
VC#:  970625s2.0.1-036
Hosts:  Sun SPARCstation and SPARCserver all models, Sun UltraStation and

SOCIETY

This book describes current best practices in software engineering.  It
