Background: I was asked by my local community board to create a web
site. However, in the verbal requirements they included a section of
the web-site should be private and limited to the residents of the
community.
Requirement: Therefore, we need a secure application that runs on the
server and accepts the user's email address as a log-on together with
a password.
Benefits to Ada: Although, I will not sponsor a custom project, I do
believe that this type of software would be benefited by the image of
Ada or, better yet, SPARK. High reliability should be a commercial
advantage. The program could plug Ada by informing the user that they
are now being protected by the use of high-reliability Ada software.
Implementation and Marketing: I hope this suggestion stimulates some
action by some of my fellow readers of Comp.Lang.Ada. Since this
would be a COTs project, it might be possible to sell it to the DOD.
However, I believe that the application should be sold and delivered
via the Web. Fortunately, the use of the Web eliminates any
requirement for shelf space.
