NEW IN THE ADA INFORMATION CLEARINGHOUSE PRODUCTS & TOOLS DATABASE

Below are the latest additions to the AdaIC Products & Tools Database.  
The AdaIC is constantly updating the database, which is located on the 
Web at: http://omega.sw-eng.falls-church.va.us/scripts/tools/form.pl
Tools may be entered to the database via an on-line entry form accessible 
from the above URL.

Universal Network Architecture Services - UNAS - A messaging oriented 
middleware product that has been successfully used to build large real 
time systems. UNAS is built in Ada for Ada and provides the messaging 
layer for application developers to graphically define an architecture 
with the UNAS CASE Tool. Submitted by the TRW, Inc.

ORBexpress for Ada 95 and ORBexpress Realtime for Ada 95 - Provides IIOP 
support and interoperability with CORBA-compliant products. It serves as 
a middleware solution for building reliable multi-tier, distributed 
systems using Ada 95 with all the features of object-orientation.

Ada_SQL_Connect - Connects Ada 95 applications to multiple relational 
databases via Open Database Connectivity (ODBC).  Submitted by OIS.

Screen Machine - A tool for building portable, multi-threaded graphical 
user interfaces and provides an environment for designing, prototyping, 
coding, testing, and maintaining user interfaces for Ada applications.

DII COE TECHNICAL WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
Topic:  DII COE
A three-day hands-on workshop to provide technical information 
concerning the DII COE will be held at the NCTS in Jacksonville, FL 10-12 
February and 10-12 March 1998.  

This course is offered in the Windows NT format, and topics include 
concepts, documentation, process, taxonomy, segmentation, and tools. 
Hands-on exercises let students set up and populate directory files 
structures and use the Developer's toolkit to identify segments, verify 
segments, perform installation and deinstallation procedures, install 
COTS applications, and run the segmented application.

DII COE STYLE GUIDE ACCESSIBLE ON THE WEB

The User Interface Specifications for the Defense Information 
Infrastructure (DII) (Style Guide) Version 2.0 Final, is now available on 
the Web.
                        
The searchable, HTML version of the April 1996 (Reposted in July of 1997) 
DII User Interface Specifications (UIS) may be viewed at:  
http://sw-eng.falls-church.va.us/coe/docs/uis/v2-0/html/

The UIS defines the "look and feel" of information systems built in 
accordance with COE standards. 

This document is also available as an Adobe .pdf document, Microsoft 
Word self extracting executable file, and downloadable zip file of the
