This reminds me of a story of a few years back.  TI and UTAustin were developing a
software development suite for the TI Advanced Scientific Computer, and had called
in some cconsultant help from MIT or thereabouts.  The subject was edit controls, in
particular cursor movement.  The emacs-based experts were arguing that Control-U
was a more intuitive symbol for "up one line" than was the "up-arrow" key!
