THREE UNIX VENDORS EXPECT COE CERTIFICATION
Topic: COE
Three vendors, Digital Equipment Corporation, IBM Corporation, and
Silicon Graphics, expect to receive DISA's Common Operating Environment
(COE) certification for their UNIX products by the end of June. The COE
certification will be for Digital's Unix 4.0, IBM AIX 4.1.4, and Silicon
Graphics Irix 6.2 and related products.

KELLEY NOMINATED FOR DISA DIRECTOR
Topic: Ada, DII, COE
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen has nominated Army Maj. Gen. David J.
Kelley as the new Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency
(DISA). Maj. Gen. Kelly, who must be confirmed by Congress, will replace
retiring LT. Gen. Albert Edmonds. Maj. Gen. Kelley is currently
DISA's vice director.

NEW ADA 95 VALIDATED COMPILERS

The Ada Joint Program Office announced two new Ada 95 validated compilers:
1) Company: Aonix
Compiler: ObjectAda for Unix for SPARC/Solaris, Version 7.1
Host: Sun SPARCstation and SPARCserver all models, Sun UltraStation and
UltraServer all models (under Solaris 2.5)
Target: Any host
2) Company: Aonix
Compiler: ObjectAda for Unix for HP-PA RISC/HP-UX, Version 7.1
Host: HP 9000 Series 700, B-Class, C-Class, and J-Class, all Models
(under HP-UX 10.10 and HP-UX 10.20)
Target: Any host
