REUSE AND THE WEB
Topic: Reuse
In the last few years, the WWW has emerged as a major factor in the
construction of distributed systems. Web pages defined in HTML are
stored in files and accessed by a Web server in response to requests from
Web browsers. Reuse on the Web is accomplished using URL references
between pages defined by HTML. This has created a network of references
between pages that seems to be evolving like a living organism. On the
Web, each URL is an example of reuse.
