A survey was conducted by AFCET about usage of software engineering
practices in France (published in "01 Informatique" last week).

When it comes to programming languages,  the split was, for "technical
computing" (i.e. excluding business):
C: 35%
C++: 21%
Ada: 14%
Assembly: 10.5%
Pascal: 7%
Others: 12,5%

Quoted from the text of the paper:
As far as technical development is concerned, it is characterized by a
worthwile progression of Ada, which is more specifically present in
networks and telecommunications fields.

Well, I thought this info was at least Euro 0.02 worth...
