The premier international conference on software reuse invites you to
participate in the fifth meeting of software reuse researchers,
practitioners, and managers. The conference theme, "Putting the
Pieces Together," addresses the traditional question of how to
create, index, retrieve, evaluate, interconnect, integrate, and test
reusable components for all aspects of the software lifecycle.
However, "putting the pieces together" means more than assembling
software components into new applications. It also means bringing
together all the technologies, tools, techniques, and processes that
have historically interested the reuse, object-oriented, software
architecture, and software engineering communities. We invite you to
submit full papers, tutorials, and panel proposals on topics that
include:
* Application of reuse metrics * Language design for reuse
* Case studies and experiments * Maintenance issues in reuse
* Copyright and legal issues * Object-oriented reuse
* Current issues in reuse libraries * Patterns for software design
* Distributed components and composition
* Formal methods * Practical organizational issues
* Design and validation of components * Re-engineering for reuse
* Domain analysis and engineering * Reuse education and training
* Generators and transformers * Reuse beyond code
* Integration frameworks * Software architecture
* Internet-based reuse

Instructions to Authors:
------------------------
Papers must be original and not under consideration for publication
elsewhere. Authors must clearly explain the contribution of the work
in terms of its theoretical and/or practical value and *relationship
to previous work*. Submissions must be full papers, in English,
which when in final form require no more than 10 printed pages in
standard IEEE 2-column format. Each submission must include an
abstract and a list of key words. Panel proposals must include the
moderator's name, an abstract, and the list of panelists that have
consented to participate. Accepted papers and panel positions will
appear in the conference proceedings published by the IEEE Computer
Society Press. The conference will also host exhibits of software
reuse technology; we welcome demonstrations of commercial products
and research prototypes.
