I'm sending the following message to solicit interest from outside of the
Houston, Texas area in a day-long seminar on advanced concepts of OOD, to be
presented by Robert Martin. The seminar would be organized by the
Houston/Clear Lake Area Chapter of ACM. Preliminary seminar parameters are as
follows:

Topics to be covered could include:

1. In-depth discussion of the importance of dependency management within OO
systems and the presentation of methods for managing dependencies.
This discussion would address the material covered in Martin's book,
"Designing Object-Oriented C++ Applications Using the Booch Method".

2. Discussions of the key OOD concepts that Martin presently is covering in his
"Engineers Notebook" column in C++ Report; and/or

3. Design patterns.

The seminar fee would be about $100 per person.

The seminar probably would be held on a Saturday, most likely during February or March of 1997.

If you are interested in attending this seminar, please let me know. Also
indicate which topics interest you most. ACM Houston will continue with
seminar plans once we've received enough positive responses to make the
seminar financially viable for us.
