I hereby donate the following draft lyrics to Team Ada, the
ARA, SIGAda and anyone else who wants to use them to promote
our favorite language. The title is "Ada, the Magic Language"
-- to be sung to the tune of "Puff, the Magic Dragon" --
the tune goes up high at the end of each odd numbered pair
of lines, lower at the end of even numbered pairs.

                Ada, the Magic Language
by the Bard of Ada 95

Ada, the magic language, combines the best of C,
And C++, and Pascal, with FLEXIBILITY. (1)

With compile and runtime checking, and built-in concurrency,
You can make distributed systems, with RELIABILITY. (2)

With legacy code in Fortran, COBOL and C
You can reuse many assets, MULTI-LINGUALLY. (3)

You can generate Java applets automatically,
Sending products to the web, PLATFORM-INDEPENDENTLY. (4)

With object-orientation and composibility,
You can package library systems, HIERARCHICLY. (5)

With nicely packaged structures, and portability,
Ada's great to teach and learn, with READABILITY. (6)
--------------------------------------------------------------

Next year, I plan to produce a "glitzy" version of
HOT_Ada, with sound clips, etc. I plan to have my
daughter, Jenny, sing this while accompanying herself
on the guitar. Suggested additions and improvements
will be gratefully accepted.
