Is there in fact any way to get a GNAT that produces Windows 95/NT
programs for less then $250? I bought the $50 version and it has no way
to use "resources". The docs indicate that I can either buy MS Visual C++
or the $250 version of GNAT from Labtek in order to use menus, dialog
boxes, etc in my Windows programs.
The $100 ActivAda I had previously bought from Alsys includes the SDK
stuff necessary for resources but it's Ada 83. Its resource compiler
produces .res files from .rc files, but GNAT seems to need an extra
program that produces .rbj files from the .res files. Does the .rbj
converter come with Visual C++? Does it come with the $250 version
of GNAT? Is it available anywhere else? Alternatively, is there
any other Ada 95 compiler which, in a version complete enough to
produce real Windows programs, costs less?
