* Link failure with GNAT304a and Win95

I'm trying to build a small program using GNAT304a on a Win95 system.
The program makes use of Text_IO.  The command to perform the build is:

  GNATMAKE TEST.ADB

Everything is fine until the build, when I get the following error:

test.gp: file not recognized: File format not recognized
C:\GNAT304A\GNATMAKE.EXE: *** link failed.

TEST.GP appears to be a text file referencing a lot of library object
files (and the program's main object file).

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?  I haven't found anything obvious
(to me) yet.
