DoD PUBLISHES CD-ROM-BASED DEFENSE ACQUISITION DESKBOOK
****************************************************************
The Defense Department recently published the first edition
of its CD-Rom based Defense Acquisition Deskbook, a one-stop
source for program offices which includes DoD and government
acquisition policies, the Federal Acquisition Regulation,
and other reference material. The CD-Rom, which will be
issued quarterly and has a companion WWW site, also includes
the beginnings of a library of material on best practices,
lessons learned, and examples of innovative procurements.
The CD-Rom is expected to provide a more effective means of
accessing guidelines and other acquisition-related topics.
The WWW site, http://deskbook.osd.mil/deskbook.html,
features a bulletin board where the DoD can publish new
policies and any discretionary material that is especially
topical. The CD-Rom will be offered to industry vendors at
about $35.

together users and vendors of software engineering tools,
and those who research and teach related techniques, to
discuss and exchange new developments and to share good
practice. The Conference will consist of tutorials,
presentations and demonstrations of software engineering
products.
Participation in the Conference is invited from all those in

Ada 95 MATRIX MATH PACKAGE AVAILABLE
******************************************
The Data Fusion laboratory, part of Drexel University, has
made the first release of its Ada 95 Matrix Math package
available to the Ada 95 community. The package targets
vector and matrix math operations implemented natively in
Ada 95. Many operations, such as determinants, subvectors/
matrices, singular value decompositions, inverses,
eigenvalues/eigenvectors are supported.
For more information on the Ada 95 Matrix Math package,
refer to the Data Fusion Lab's web page at:
