Announcement - CORBA IDL to Ada Mapping Revision Comment Period

As part of a continuous process to keep its specifications current, the
Object Management Group (OMG) has chartered a Revision Task Force to
review
and revise the OMG IDL => Ada Language Mapping specification. The
current
specification, published as a chapter of the CORBA 2.2 specification
<http://www.omg.org/corba/cichpter.htm#mia> is open to public comment
until
15 August 1998. The revised specification is due for submission 14
September 1998.

All issues should be submitted to <mailto:ada-rtf@omg.org>. Queries that

might help clarify or otherwise solidify issues before formal submission

can be submitted to me, the RFT chair <mailto:vtg@ois.com>

OMG IDL-4.x to Ada mapping revision

Thanks to the IDL4 "building blocks" [1], we have clean separation of the common IDL core from transport specific aspects (CORBA, CCM, DDS, etc.)

The IDL to C++11 mapping [2] has taken steps toward IDL4.
The current IDL to Ada mapping [3] is still closely tied in with CORBA.
Is anyone working on aligning it with IDL4?

Not to my knowledge; I'd be interested in helping w/ such an effort though.
