PAL ACTIVITY REPORT BRIEF

Since the PAL began operation (in June 1993) through March 1996, users
from

   4,323 organizations in
      67 countries extracted
 423,531 files

from the PAL.

The total (which includes the activity of the PAL mirror sites at CNAM in
Paris, Walnut Creek CDROM in California, and SW-ENG in Virginia in
extracting files from the main site at Washington University in Saint
Louis) is summarized as:

The activities of the PAL mirror sites in California, Paris, and
Virginia have already been excluded from the above counts.

The above counts present low estimates of the actual activity.  These
counts do NOT include Gopher transfers from the CDROM.COM and CNAM.FR
mirrors, HTTP transfers from the CNAM mirror, any transfers from SW-ENG
(it has not been announced to the users yet), as well as FTP mail and
remote NFS mounts from the main site at WUARCHIVE.WUSTL.EDU.  Due to
occasional problems with the activity logs, the above counts are not
always complete each month.  These counts do NOT include CDROM
distributions.

The raw data and activity logs associated with these activities are
located in the tree ada/userdocs/activity in the PAL.
