In Debian, license status is described, with references, in the
file
/usr/share/doc/gnat-4.[12]-base/copyright

They didn't change AdaCore's GPL edition.
AdaCore's GNAT GPL edition is available from AdaCore.
Debian's GNAT is available as part of Debian, and is not
derived from AdaCore's GNAT GPL edition.
