Where to find Ada roles?

Hi Everyone,

I am an Ada developer and I am looking for my next role. I was just wondering if anyone knew where the best place was to find companies who are looking for Ada developers?

Any information would be very helpful.

The usual defence places. There's a bank in Switzerland, trains in Belgium.

It would be nice if more companies would start to use Ada, but that's a
pipe dream now.

You could look at the proceedings of recent Ada conferences (such as, 
the Ada-Europe conferences, http://www.ada-europe.org/confs/ae) for the 
affiliations of the authors of the conference papers. Some of the 
authors work in industry, in companies that use Ada.

Any geographical preferences? I know of some Ada-using companies in the 
UK, France, and Finland, but I don't know if they are looking for people 
at the moment.

I am currently based in Brussels, so my preference would be companies in Belgium or Holland but I am flexible.

Ada-Belgium maintains an "Ada Jobs" page with announcements submitted
to us.  See <http://www.cs.kuleuven.be/~dirk/ada-belgium/jobs/>.

Just to note that I have no knowledge of the current programming 
language preferences of the organizations I listed above. I just know 
that they have used Ada in the past.

No idea, I just know there was some people in #Ada a while back looking for someone to join their trading team, might've been Duncan Sands' company, not too sure.

In Switzerland you cannot escape to Ada (as a user) - unless you live in a home with an own power generator and a pile of cash, and drive to pay each of your bills in cash directly to the issuers of the invoices :-).

For one I do know that Eurocontrol is looking for (at least) one Ada developer.

You could contact Consafe Logistics (Lund, Sweden).  I don't know of any
open positions right now, but there is plenty of Ada development going
on.

NB: something similar exists for mathematicians (also a small market...) - check "Math jobs".
