Getting a foot in Aerospace?

Hello,

	How does one get a food in aerospace programming?
  Is it just like other jobs, all by referral to get in
  initially? From looking around, it appears that aerospace
  companies/firms looking for programmers require aerospace
  experience.
	Curious as to if I wished to be able to work full
  time in Ada, the actual companies/firms requiring Ada
  programming skills are hard to get into. I really like the
  Ada programming language, just wish to see myself
  programming in it for a long time, if for example, I am
  not working with my present employeer anymore.

Apply.

For entry level up to mid level many/most don't really care as much as the 
ads might lead you to believe.

Most people I know were first hired as college co-ops.

I had a friend who was having difficulties finding a job (this was
during the previous recession when Bush Sr was president, not the
current recession).  She applied to a prestigious ivy league school,
then applied for a co-op position.  Got the job, got turned down by
the school, and 14 years later she still works for the hiring company.
