Yes, it certainly does. GNAT itself is a C main program (part of GCC)
that calls the Ada-written front end. When it comes time for it to
generate code, it calls C code (Gigi) to interface to GCC. Gigi, in
turn, often makes calls to Ada functions in the front end to access
the tree.
