Isn't there already a binding to these databases? GNADE? (I've 
downloaded it but have not had time to actually unpack it and look at 
what it does)

I agree that Ada needs a full-up development environment that ought to 
include things like a database and a GUI. The problem is that the pieces 
are there, but not collected in an integrated, coordinated way, nor are 
they considered "Standard" in some respect so that developers can count 
on the interfaces being portable.
