RTLGnat version 0.1 is now available from the following web site:

   http://bernia.disca.upv.es/rtportal/apps/rtl-gnat/

It works with Gnat 3.14 for Linux and RTLinux 3.1 or later.

 From the README file:

"RTLGNAT is a port of the GNAT Ada compiler for the Real-Time Linux operating
system. The Ada program is compiled into an RTLinux loadable kernel module,
where the program's tasks will run as threads. To start running the Ada program,
the generated module must be inserted by means of the Linux service 'insmod'.

As a result, the Ada program is run in the Kernel space with more priority than
any other running Linux application."

Enjoy.

Jorge Real.

Can RTLGnat also be used to compile Linux kernel modules in general?

What are the differences between RTLGnat and plain vanilla GNAT on Linux?

Greetings,

Jacob

No, RTLGnat-generated modules need RTLinux: they use the RTLinux POSIX interface
(e.g. for creating threads).

Cheers,
Jorge.
