Hi!

Can I have downloaded GtkAda-1.2.12, is there something called glib-1.2.12
and gtk+1.2.12 that I should use?(if so where is it ?-)
Otherwise I guess that glib/gtk+-1.2.10 is ok.
The reason why I ask is that I have found a readme file from my old 1.2.8
that states that I must use 1.2.8 versions of glib/gtk+ :-)

To be used with GNAT3-14p

Both of gtk and GtkAda have updated to 2.0 lately.

See
 http://www.gtk.org/download
 http://libre.act-europe.fr/GtkAda/main.html

I have not evaluated yet though.

gtk and GtkAda 2.0 are for the PC environments only. gtk+-1.2.10 and
GtkAda-1.2.12 are needed for all Unix flavors. glib-1.2.x is a support
library for gtk+.

Wha? gtk-2.0 is for Unix; among other things, it adds Unicode support.

That's not the case, Gtk/GtkAda 2.0 are suitable for all environments where
1.2 was, but it is true that Gtk 2.0 is very recent, so 1.2 will stay an
attractive
approach for some time (this is the version that Ada Core Technologies
is currently supporting).

As for versions 1.2.x between gtk and gtkada, this is explained in the GtkAda
documentation. In addition, such questions can be asked to report@gnat.com
for our supported users, and on the GtkAda mailing list for others,
see http://libre.act-europe.fr/GtkAda for more details

I thought gtk 2.0 is at the moment unstable...
