It looks to me like it is at:

	ftp://ftp.cs.nyu.edu/pub/gnat/private/old/openvms/

I don't believe that is a VAX target. I think they've only ported to
OpenVMS Alpha, but I could be wrong...

Charlie is correct, the port at the above address is for Alpha only and no
port for VAX exists. In case the original poster knows this and was using
"VAXstation" as a generic term, the following may be helpful:

Before installing the above kit, you need to install the Ada Predefined
Libraries for GNAT as well as the current C RTL patch kit.

You can find the Predefined Libraries at:

http://www.openvms.compaq.com/commercial/ada/

and follow the link under "Ada 95 Utilities". Be aware that Charlie _does_
read the feedback form. :-)

You can find the C RTL patch kit for your version of VMS by starting at:

ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/public/vms/axp/

The debugger in use is GDB, but GDB is not supplied as part of the public kit.
I asked ACT about this, and Robert Dewar's response was that there was a
GDB kit at NYU, but it appears to have been removed. He suggested that I look
at the mirrors, but this did not turn up anything. E-Mail to NYU also went
unanswered. If you do find a GDB for VMS, please post it's location here,
as I would be interested in finding it.

Simon.

PS: Of course, the question _I'm_ interested in is if ACT are going to do
a GCC 3.x backend for VMS, or if GNAT on VMS will remain at GCC 2.8 ?

Larry Kilgallen is in the process of trying to rehost
our AdaMagic compiler to Vax/OpenVMS. I believe he
has "Hello World" working. You should contact him for
more details.

You can still purchase Compaq Ada (83) license for VAX or Alpha.
If your purpose qualifies for the VMS hobbyist program the cost
is zero.

Check
  http://www.irvine.com/native.html

It appears they have a VAX/VMS targeted Ada 95 Compiler.

I believe this is an Ada 83 compiler (I don't believe any
Ada 95 tests were passed). They might have updated it
since the validation results, however.

I am wrong. This compiler passed ACVC suite 2.0.1, which included
Ada 95 tests. The earlier ACVC suite 2.0 allowed compilers
to pass only Ada 83 tests, but that policy was dropped for 2.0.1.

Sorry for the misinformation.
