[OT] Black holes for interstellar travel (Re: OT: Relativity misunderstood)

If you don't mind travelling to a star in another universe - and
only one-way - black holes could be useful for interstellar
travel. Despite the general understanding of black holes, it
seems that the time you will be exposed to infinite forces
passing through a black hole is sufficiently short not to harm
you.

I have some difficulty accepting this, but Igor Novikov had some
very convincing arguments last time I heard him talk about this.

There are of course still the finite, but rather large forces
pulling you apart the rest of the time, but apparently Novikov
considers that a surmountable problem. ;-)
