* Inserting GktGlArea widget into Glade generated code?

Hi!
I've been trying to insert the GtkGlarea widget into code generated by
Glade. I works just fine as long as there isn't any other widgets in the
window for exampel menus or buttons. But when there is i get the
following runtime error message:
** CRITICAL **: file gtkglarea.c: line 184 (gtk_gl_area_make_current):
assertion `GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED(gl_area)' failed.
Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkwindow.c: line 716 (gdk_window_ref): assertion
`window != NULL' failed.
Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkwindow.c: line 716 (gdk_window_ref): assertion
`window != NULL' failed.
Can somebody please explain this to me?
