Persistent Data Systems, Inc., announces availability for beta testing
of an Ada version of its IDB Object Database. This Ada interface brings
the power of object database technology to Ada software development.

IDB is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) object database product
interfaced in its initial release to C. IDB offers persistent objects,
user-defined classes, multiple inheritance, and a directed-graph data
representation suitable for complex applications. The product includes
an interactive data browser and an interactive schema designer.

IDB runs identically on a wide range of hardware and operating system
platforms, including Unix (on Sun, HP, RS/6000, and NeXT), PC/Windows,
Windows NT, NeXTStep, and Macintosh. IDB can share data across all
supported platforms using both C and Ada. The product has been on the
market since 1990, with numerous domestic and international users.

The Ada interface is presently available for the Macintosh, with other
platforms planned for the near future. We plan to support new platforms
as dictated by customer demand.

Send me mail if you are interested in more information about the beta
program or if you would like to schedule a demonstration at TRI-Ada.
During the conference you may leave a message for me on the message
board or at Sheraton Inner Harbor (962-8300).
