NB : The department conducts an undergraduate degree with an emphasis
on large-scale software engineering. We use Ada as the main
programming language, and students enjoy substantial team project work
in their course. Students use industry standard compilers and CASE
tools in their project work, and cover the fundamental ground of
recent American Software Engineering model curricula.

We teach object-oriented methodology, using both Ada and Eiffel. The
Ada curriculum has a real-time component. There is a strong emphasis
on the use of formal methods.

We believe that our department has taken a leadership role in
Australian universities in the development of our curriculum. Our
degree is intensely practical, but does not ignore theory, and is
intellectually demanding.

We need to recruit staff who will give 110% in the apprenticing of
young software engineers, and who will join our research programs,
which are oriented towards methodological processes in software
engineering.

Consulting and short-course opportunities are good for staff with, or
willing to acquire, good Ada skills.
