I certainly presume so, since our front end generates
information specifically for the ObjectAda optimizer.
Try something like "-O3" or "-opt". Usually if you
run the compiler with no arguments it will dump out
a list of available switches.
One possibility is that the optimizer is only in some of their
targets. Historically, the x86 back end has been pretty different
from the other "risc-ish" backends. I have some memory that their
x86 backend did not do as many register optimizations as the
risc-ish backends (which is not terribly surprising given the
rather un-general register set on the x86 -- note: not trying to
start a CISC vs. RISC war here ;-).
