I'm guessing that you are really talking about the AdaGIDE editor that comes
with GNAT. Positioning the window where you want it should just be a matter of
clicking on the bar and dragging it. You can also grab one of the corners and
enlarge the window to as large as you like.

Note that GNAT does not depend on AdaGIDE. You can use any text editor (e.g.
Notepad) you like as long as it will produce a simple ASCII text file. Then you
open an MS-DOS window and invoke the compiler from the command line.

GNAT is a good choice for the beginner because it is readily available for the
cost of a download and can be run quite simply from the command line. Aonix has
a good product, but in my experience it is more complex to set up and use.
