As a member of SIGada, I must object to this latest round of bureaucratic
frivolity.
Ada is a good language and Ada is a large language, but mastery of Ada is not
beyond the abilities of all but an elite group. This licensing and apprentice-
ship is utter drivel. Why is this necessary? Why not have a license and
apprenticeship program for managers? From what I read and see on T.V., this is
needed more than a program for Ada Software Personnel (I assume soon to become
the acronym ASP).
And what about this Censure and Peer Review nonsense? This is a potential
powder keg which carries all sorts of overtones. I can just see it: The Ada
Inquisition.
Come on, the ACM was not organized for these purposes.
