Hi, I would like information on getting gnat and djgpp to work together?
Rather, I know that I can get gnat working, and I also am well aware that it
in fact uses djgpp; my only concern is still being able to compile my regular
c/c++ progrmas normally. It seems from reading various README/FAQ etc, that
in fact gnat installations on DOS systems replace gcc, and a few others. I
just upgraded to gcc 2.8.0 and I don't want overwrite it with gcc 2.7.2, or
another older/more dysfunctional version.

Thank you,

- Calvin -

As a tempory solution (until a 2.8.x based public GNAT becomes available)
you can install the current GNAT for DOS together with the mini-djgpp
that comes with it in a separate directory, and use a .bat file to change
the environment variable pointing to the DJGPP.ENV.

Note: gcc is not the compiler, but a driver program that calls the
different stages of the compiler. Merely replacing gcc does _not_
suddenly change the version of your compiler.

Should we be expecting a new version of GNAT or something like it for
DOS?
TIA for any info regarding lieklihood/what/when this might happen.
