Hi!

I'm trying to compile forest 1.6 on my Linux box (Kernel 2.1.92) using
GNAT 3.10p (GCC 2.8.1).

Here's the compiler output:

sh mkcconst > cconst.h
gcc -o cconst -g -O -g -fPIC cconst.c
sleep 1
# Try to keep HP make from getting confused
../cconst
sh mklimits
gcc -E -O -g -fPIC cdecls.c > temp.c
../ctoada/ctoada temp.c cdecls.dat cdecls.m4
In file included from cdecls.c:10:/usr/local/include/sys/types.h:112:
unknown machine mode `register_t'
__stat stat __lstat lstat __fstat fstat __mknod mknod __sigismember
__sigaddset __sigdelsetmake: *** [cdecls.m4] Error 33

I have no clue how to solve this. Please help me or point me in the
right direction.

TIA!

Why don't you use florist, instead? Forest was an Ada83 binding, and
gnat is adopting florist which is an ada95 binding.

The URL is ftp://ftp.cs.fsu.edu/pub/PART/POSIX-DOT5/florist17Feb98.tar.gz

Here's an excerpt from the README file:

NORMAL INSTALLATION:

We have only compiled and tested this version of Florist under
Solaris 2.5.1. A slightly earlier version was tested on Slackware
Linux with kernel 2.0 and HP-UX. Florist should be able to
autoconfigure for those systems, though some changes have been
made to the autoconfiguration mechanism since the last test for
those systems. We have also done some work toward supporting
other operating systems, including DEC UNIX. The Default
autoconfiguration script is likely to work at least partially on
most mainstream UNIX systems. You should see the "NOTES.*" files,
for records of what we have done last on various systems.

I think this is "the right direction."
