Hi,

DOD-STD-2167A was superceded by MIL-STD-498 in 1994. The standard
refers to the Software Maintenance and Documentation manual.

As for Ada, it is the main programming language for Space and Naval
Warfare systems. Most waivers are not used since many companies
consider the black box approach and let you use C/C++ for the most
part or older Ada-83 coding. Believe me, I told a few companies about
using Ada-95 and they simply said they didn't want to dump money into
another compiler. Guess they don't teach certain things to MBA
graduates.

On another note, I've read that they only use Ada is something better
is not out there to do the job. Many companies still hire Ada
developers (Northrop, tybrin, Lockheed-Martin) so the jobs are out
there.

Anyhow, update your people on the newer MIL-STD-498. There is no need
to refer anyone the older DOD-STD-2167A, unless they just don't keep
up with the latest issues in software engineering. That could be a
problem.
