Sorry to bring this up again, but someone asked for information pertaining
to any successful projects that have been developed using Ada.  Could the
person that originally asked this please email me a summary of the responses
that he/she got?

I highly recommend the latest issue of the Ada Information Clearinghouse
Newsletter (vol VII, No 2).  It contains twelve (small print) pages from the
Ada Usage database of current and planned projects.  It doesn't,
unfortunately, list names and addresses for points of contact, but those
might be available from the Ada IC as well at 703-685-1477.

Note that a significant number of the "projects" are commercial in nature
and not necessarily Defense related.

Successful ADA OS development

I would be interested in learning about any OS development done
in ADA.  It has long seemed to me that ADA would be the ideal
language to do OS development in since it does understand
the full range of data types required and has the extensability
necessary for real programming at this level.  A truly modular
operating system might be developable this way.

Would anyone care to post thoughts and/or experiences in the matter?

Ada books to learn from

Hi!
	Does anyone out there have a recomendation for a good book on
ADA?  I'm especially interested in a book with leanings towards VAX
ada.  I have the VAX ADA manuals, but I don't know the language for
beans.  Thanks for your time and effort!

    Biin, a joint venture of Intel and Siemens, supplies multiprocessor
    computer systems for on-line transaction processing, etc; the
    Biin/OS operating system, and most system services, are written
    entirely in Ada.

  "The PULSE distributed operating system was developed as part of a research
programme in distributed systems carried out in the Department of Computer
Science at the University of York during the period October 1979 to October
1984.  Out initial efforts included the study of alternative methods of
distributing the UNIX operating system on several microprocessors connected by
a fast local area network such as the Cambridge Ring.
