There are/were some tools that will read C code, and some of them may
include ADA - The one we used was from Abraxis. Sorry, can't remember
the name of the tool, but their ads should be in the magazines. To
handle the strictly formatting stuff (file heading comment blocks), we
wrote a C program using lex to parse the blocks for key words and small
action rouines to do the counting. The program took a novice about a
week to write (and learn enough lex and C to cope).

I was the novice.

I have some experience with Ada-ASSURED which does exactly what you
describe and much more besides. I think you should drop an e-mail to
jeff@grammatech.com (their marketing man) for more info. I will send
you more information by e-mail, if you wish, on my evaluation of
it. It's a good tool and they just released the latest version which
integrates nicely with a wide variety of compilers (e.g. VADS, GNAT,
RISCAda as I rememvber amonst others).

It also does pretty-printing to a high standard (including PS output).

Let me know if you want more info.

Try using the search engine at

   http://sw-eng.falls-church.va.us/AdaIC/forms/tool_form.html

with keyword "standard". You should get references for AdaQuest,
Ada-ASSURED, Xinotech, and others. It doesn't have every tool out there,
but it's a start.
