My understanting is that Ada Core Technologies does plan to update the
Ada front-end for tree-ssa. However, as for any other company, their
priorities are set by their customers, so it is not known just when
they will find the time to do the update. This is a large change to
the Ada front-end. As a prerequisite, it must support
function-at-a-time compiling.

The tree-ssa branch has been merged into the main line, and the
announcement [1] says that this broke the Ada and Fortran 77
front-ends. This was foreseen, as evidenced by the various emails
that I reproduce in the Ada policy for Debian [2]. (BTW, I need to
update that document).
