Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering

Swinburne has strong undergraduate and postgraduate programs in
Software Engineering, and wide-ranging research is currently
undertaken in a variety of aspects of the Software Process.

We are interested in recruiting an energetic new staff member with a
good record in research and teaching to assist with the on-going

If you have a good research background, as evidenced by publication,
extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Software Engineering
(such as object-oriented methodologies, software process modelling,
software quality assurance, standards, formal methods), and the energy
and ambition necessary to help us succeed in our mission of developing
a first-rate Software Engineering program, then we'd be delighted to hear
from you.

(For those who do not know Swinburne, we are a relatively small but
progressive university of technology located in the Melbourne suburb
of Hawthorn, some 6 km from the city centre. Melbourne is an attractive

one would expect for a city of its size!)

Information Technology activity (Computer Science, Information Systems,
Computer Systems Engineering) comprises over 20% of the university's profile.
We offer programs at all levels from associate diploma to PhD. The
Computer Science Department currently has 16 postgraduate research students, a
number which has been steadily growing for the last three years, and
is still increasing.

The salary for the position is in the range Academic Level C ($50,225
- $57,913). The position may be offered on either a tenurable or
contract basis.

The closing date for applications is 5 July 1993.

If you want to discuss the position, then either
