As a service to the entire computing community, we will be offering
a free 2-week hands-on Ada course here at the Air Force Academy this
summer. Other than your transportation and lodging, there is no
charge. We have offered this summer class for the last 9 years, and
the students have always had great words to say about it.
Class will be from Tuesday, 8 June till Friday, 18 June. It is an intro-
ductory class. Students in the past have ranged from the "I am clueless
about how to spell Ada" to "I have programmed in Ada for a few months
and want to sharpen up my skills". The only recommendation is that
students have some experience with a procedural programming language.
The emphasis of the course will be Ada from a Software Engineering perspective,
and lectures/labs will cover all of the constructs of the language. We have
4 - 6 programming exercises, and each student will have a machine to use.
I will be the primary instructor for the course. I have about 10 years
experience teaching Ada, having taught it for both the Air Force and
multiple colleges. If you have questions or want to reserve a slot
(we are limited to about 65 students) email or call.
