The package provides string editing and formatting facilities:
- Generic axis scales support;
- Integer numbers I/O;
- Integer sub- and superscript numbers I/O;
- Floating-point numbers I/O;
- Roman numbers I/O;
- Strings (alignment within a field);
- Ada-style quoted strings I/O;
- UTF-8 encoded strings;
- Unicode maps and sets;
- Wildcard pattern matching.
