I'm trying to make the input such that after x number of inputted characters, the function automatically terminates. I have tried manipulating the file_support.file_record (is this standard?) and have used the file_support.getchar function for input but this is limited; from dissection, the routine still relies on the LF (no meaningless character data has to be entered though) Any information would be appreciated, Mike ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

What compiler? What operating system? What version of Ada? The question you are asking is highly dependent on the answers to these questions. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

I didn't bother with this info because I thought ada was easily portable (with the exception of system-specific info).
