Is their any way to terminate character input without a LF? I'm
trying to make the input such that after x number of inputted characters,
the function automatically terminates.

I have tried manipulating the file_support.file_record (is this
standard?) and have used the file_support.getchar function for input but
this is limited; from dissection, the routine still relies on the LF (no
meaningless character data has to be entered though)

 Any information would be appreciated,

						    Mike
