ALSYS MERGES WITH COMMERCIAL 4GL COMPANY TO BECOME
                    THOMSON SOFTWARE PRODUCTS
******************************************************************
DATELINE: January 20, 1995

Alsys, Inc., has recently merged with MUST Software International,
a software vendor of fourth-generation (4GL) products and related
services for the commercial marketplace. As of January 1, 1995,
the two companies became Thomson Software Products, a subsidiary of
Thomson-CSF, the France-based parent of both companies.

Jean-Luc Badault, President and CEO of MUST, will become the CEO of
Thomson Software Products. Ben Goodwin, President of Alsys, will
become the CEO for North America and the Pacific Rim for the new
organization.

According to Goodwin, commitment to the future of the Ada language
remains unaltered, "We will continue to provide the highest quality
Ada development environments, tools and support now and in the
future."

A valuable change that will come with this merger is the broad
spectrum of products and services the new company can offer as well
as a stronger foundation to invest in research and development to
accelerate the delivery of new products. Together, the companies
(Alsys and MUST) offer a range of software solutions and
capabilities that address virtually every facet of enterprise-wide
software needs.

                           AdaWORLD:
                AN ENVIRONMENT TARGETING POWERPC
*****************************************************************
DATELINE: January 20, 1995

On December 19, 1995, Alsys announced the availability of a
powerful AdaWorld cross development environment hosted on the IBM
RISC System/6000 workstation under AIX and targeting the
PowerPC/LynxOS. The optimized cross-compiler generates fast,
efficient code for the PowerPC architecture running under LynxOS,
a real-time POSIX-compliant UNIX operating system.

AdaWorld incorporates the LynxOS multi-threading feature, which
ideally complements Ada's multi-tasking features. AdaWorld maps
each Ada task on a LynxOS thread so that task blocks waiting for
resources do not affect other tasks, even when the task calls a
blocking service written in another language. This procedure helps
deliver maximum performance and greatly simplifies application
architecture.

       RATIONAL ACQUIRES WISCONSIN-BASED OBJECT-ORIENTED
                    SOFTWARE ENGINEERING FIRM
*****************************************************************
DATELINE: January 20, 1995

On January 16, 1995, Rational Software Corporation announced that
it has acquired Palladio Software Corporation, a software-
engineering firm that provides tools and training for
object-oriented development.

Palladio was the original developer of a Windows-based
object-oriented analysis and design product that Rational
licensed and integrated with its Rational Rose technology as
part of a joint technology and distribution agreement with
Palladio in October 1992. Since then, the two companies have
collaborated on the development and enhancement of the
Rational Rose family of products.

"This acquisition is a natural extension of the partnership we
have developed with Palladio over the past two years," said
Paul D. Levy, president and chief executive officer of
Rational. "Palladio's software engineers have had extensive
experience in developing and delivering object-oriented
products and training. This agreement will enable us to take
full advantage of this expertise as we continue to enhance and
extend our object-technology solutions."
