I have the impression that both Meridian and RR sell add-ons to their
compilers for doing this. Is my impression correct?

I have documentation for something called OpenUser Interface Graphics (OUIG).
Haven't tried it (recently) but it looks about right. This is Meridian.

My RR Ada9X beta compiler came with an Ada83 compiler including something
called JWindows. Haven't tried it yet. Not in the ballpark?
