I'm in search of an Ada compiler for my Mac. I understand both Meridian
and Alsys have compilers available. Any reason to choose one over the
other? Please reply via EMAIL as I must reach a decision quickly and
news group bandwidth is just too great.

huson@enuxhb.eas.asu.edu (Mark Huson) asked about Ada compilers for the
Mac.
Meridian Ada works and is being actively supported, as evidenced by a
recent upgrade release. Alsys Ada does not work under System 7, and I
was told by the Alsys folks at the last TRI-Ada that they have no
present plans to revive the product. All of which pretty much settles
that issue.
I am a regular user of Meridian Ada for software development. It's far
from the world's best compiler, but I certainly find it adequate for my
needs.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my previous request for information.
Evidently Alsys is no longer supporting their Ada compiler for the Mac
so Meridian is the only viable alternative for that platform.
