CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Architecting Systems for the 90's and Beyond
The Ada language has been the focus of both positive and negative press
over the last decade. The issues of architecting environments which
incorporate the Ada language have often been overshadowed by these
language debates. Changing technologies and the maturing of Ada have
introduced a number of significant challenges for Program Managers,
Software Engineers, and Designers.
The TRI-Ada '94 conference will address many of the challenges
encountered by people who will be Architecting Systems for the 90's and
Beyond. The TRI-Ada '94 conference program will consist of contributed
papers, invited lectures, panels, reports on practical experience, and
tutorials.

CALL FOR PAPERS AND PANELS
Possible paper and panel discussion topics include, but are by no means
limited to:
* The challenges and experience of architecting large systems
* Re-Engineering/Re-Hosting -- Cost effective alternatives to
development?
* Methodologies - Object Orientation, Information Engineering,
Structured Analysis and many others: Why use any of these? Is there a
"correct" or "best" methodology?
* How to create software development environments with current
technologies and tools
* Ada 83 and Ada 9X - The end of a long road or the beginning of a new
one?
* Telecommunications and Networks - How do they affect the design of new
systems?
* Hardware and Software - Where do we draw the lines in the 90's? Do we
make software do more hardware functions or do we embed more software in
hardware? Who decides? How?
* Managing personnel and technologies in a changing world. Is there any
plan for it? Successes? Failures?
* Ada education and training - Has it kept up with the changes in
technology and changes in student profiles? What will be available to
support the new Ada 9X standard?
Six copies of full papers (12 pages or less), or abstracts outlining
proposed panel sessions, should be mailed to the Program Chair. Please
confine identifying information to the front cover to allow for
anonymous review. Electronic submissions will not be accepted. Receipt
of submissions will be confirmed in writing.

performance; and the fit in the overall balance of the tutorial program.
Tutorial instructors are eligible for a modest honorarium.
Possible tutorial topics include, but are not limited to:
Introduction to Ada Advanced Ada
Introduction to 9X Features Application of 9X Features
Teaching Ada to Undergrads Formal Methods
