HELP!
I am working on a project which controls source software on a UNIX machine
using SCCS. In the past we have controlled 'C' source with SCCS using the
keywords %W% %G% as a static character string. This has worked well because
these SCCS keywords will be compiled into the object and allow closer
Configuration Management tracking of executables.
However, on the current project, source is written in Fortran and Ada
and we are looking for a way to insert SCCS keywords into the source code
so that they are also compiled into the object. For this reason, we cannot
just put the keywords in as a comment field.
During initial testing on Ada files, we discovered that Ada will not
accept the %W% keyword as a constant string because it expands to be a
tab which Ada reads as a non-printable character.
Does anyone have a solution for a good way to put in keywords into Fortran
and Ada source code files to that it is compiled into the object code? If so,
what SCCS keywords are you using?
