At the risk of causing them a flood of mail that they cannot handle, I'd
like to recommend a source for a Modula-2 compiler for VAX-11/bsd 4.1. The
last time we spoke, the terms were a licence fee of 100 pounds (payable in
sterling) for a copy of the distribution tape (I believe that this is
imposed by N. Wirth, rather than Cambridge). The distribution system
includes a *MUCH* improved I/O library and an implementation of GKS draft 7.0.
Be aware that the code produced is far from optimal, but that it does seem
to work, and there are people at Cambridge using it for extensive
development and research.
The person to get in touch with is

You might try sending him mail at 'mjj%camjenny%caga%ucl-cs@Isid.arpa', but
things have been a little unreliable of late (besides, CSNET seems to have
hiccups over the '%' signs). Mick is also busy writing a version for the
PERQ running UNIX, has a well optimised one for the GEC-4090, and has a
prototype version for the 68000, although that is a little shaky.
